Bristol's FIRST Full-time Independent Islamic School

"Andalusia Academy Bristol provides good quality education and care and successfully meets its aims. Through good teaching and a well-balanced curriculum the pupils make good progress. The school has a relationships, good behaviour and positive attitudes to learning." OFSTED Report 2007.
We are the only full-time independent school with an Islamic ethos in the southwest. We opened our doors in 2005 and currently have over 120 pupils. Andalusia Academy Bristol caters for primary girls and boys, and secondary girls. It is run by Bristol Islamic Schools Trust (BIST), which was established in 1997 to create a school that teacher the National Curriculum in an Islamic environment.
Located in the heart of the city the school reflects the broad mix of social backgrounds within the surrounding community. We value every child in our school and want to help them realise their full potential through our well-designed curriculum and dedicated staff.
As a school with an Islamic ethos, the education we provide helps to prepare and equip our children with the necessary tools to make a positive contribution to the wider society. We want them to be successful in this world and the hereafter.
Our vision is to create a centre of excellence where the children are nurtured both spiritually and intellectually and go forward to become proud, aspiring and confident Muslims who are respectful and tolerant of others. We are confident that our friendly and caring Islamic environment delivers a sound education for your child. This sets us aprt from any other school in Bristol.

Head Teacher's Statement
At Andalusia we aim to create a 'centre of excellence', where all children are valued and helped to reach their full potential in a safe and secure Islamic environment which is condusive to their learning. Our success in achieving this has been recognised by our last inspection which highly praised the school.
Our aim is to instill morals, values, aspirations and a sense of community and pride. The staff are enthusiastic, vibrant and committed and they give our pupils the individual attention necessary to encourage them to achieve in all areas of the curriculum to the best of their ability.
Parents are a very important part of the school community and we are very grateful for the support and encouragement that they provide. Our strength is the close relationshp we have with the parents and the community and together we can take this school forward insha'Allah.
The high academic standards we offer are for everyone I would like to welcome you to come and see the school for yourself.

Statement of the Chairman of Trustees of Bristol Islamic Schools Trust (BIST)
Since it was established in December 1997, BIST had the vision of creating a centre of excellence in education within a secure Islamic environment. The Trustees were trying hard to remove the public misconception that Islamic schools are for religious education only. BIST established Andalusia Academy in September 2005 to fulfil this vision.
Based on the OFSTED report of the July 2007 inspection visit, BIST is proud to present Andalusia Academy to all the people of Bristol and not only its Muslim Community. Praise be to Almighty Allah who enabled us to achieve these successes in a relatively short time and with limited resources. These successes are not only a credit to the Trustees, but also to the committed staff and the supportive community.
